Some mornings leave behind not just memories but a sense of quiet inspiration, and 4th July 2025 was one such day at SSWS. The campus
came alive with a beautiful celebration that blended culture, tradition, and creativity through an immersive Palakhi procession and Abhang recitation.

The event began with a heartfelt welcome that set a reflective and joyous tone. As the ceremonial lamp was lit, the atmosphere transformed into one of calm and reverence. A musical rendition of a classic Marathi verse followed, filling the space with warmth and a collective sense of togetherness.

The focus of the event was to help students discover the richness of ‘Abhangs’– poetic expressions in Marathi literature known for their lyrical beauty and cultural depth. These verses, often sung with devotion, have historically carried messages of social unity, inner reflection, and resilience. Alongside this, the traditional Palakhi procession was thoughtfully reimagined as a ‘Granth Palakhi’ – a beautifully decorated palanquin of books, symbolising knowledge as sacred and worthy of being carried forward with reverence and pride.

Highlights of the celebration included moving recitations by students of Grades 6 to 8, a melodious group performance by Grade 4, and a beautifully choreographed dance by Grade 5 that embodied the spirit of the occasion.

The celebration concluded with a walk of unity around the school, as students and teachers came together in music and rhythm, creating a moment of shared joy and cultural connection.

It wasn’t just an event, it was an experience where education met heritage, leaving hearts uplifted and minds enriched.
