There is a specific kind of magic that settles over a school field just before the first whistle blows. It is a mix of freshly cut grass, the smell of lime powder on the tracks, and a palpable hum of nervous energy. This year, our Annual Sports Day was not just a series of races; it was a two-day odyssey that took us from the whimsical rings of a circus to the grit of an endurance challenge.

Day 1: Step Right Up to the “Circusathon” (Dec 20)
The morning of the 20th December felt less like a sports meet and more like the Big Top had come to town. As our Chief Guest, Mr. Harish Chandra Singh, was welcomed with the traditional Tikka ceremony, the air was already thick with excitement.

Once the school flag was hoisted and the choir’s voices soared during the Sports Anthem, the field transformed into Circusathon. The Spectacle: We didn’t just have runners; we had “trapeze artists” navigating obstacles and “jugglers” weaving through tracks. The Drills: The transition from the adorable, synchronized Circus Drill to the surprisingly disciplined Karate Drill showed just how hard our little ones have been working.
Mr. Singh closed the day with words of wisdom that reminded us that at this age, the joy of movement is the greatest trophy of all.

Day 2: The Grit of “Enduroquest” (Dec 21)
The energy shifted on day two. The whimsy was replaced by a sharp, competitive edge as we
welcomed international archer Ms. Srabani Sen Gupta. Her presence set a high bar for the
“Enduroquest” theme—a day dedicated to testing the limits of our older students.

Highlights of the Gauntlet:
Precision & Power: The Pom-Pom drill brought a burst of synchronized colour, followed by a high-intensity Karate display that had the crowd silenced in awe. The Main Events: Kho-Kho:
Grades 4 and 5 turned the field into a strategic chessboard of speed. Basketball: Grades 6 to 8 faced off in a nail-biting match that saw some incredible three-pointers. The Track: Nothing
beats the roar of the crowd during the relays. You could feel the ground shake as the baton passed from hand to hand.
Inter-House Standings: In a display of sheer consistency and spirit, Alpha House took home the overall championship trophy this year! The cheers from the Alpha contingent were deafening, but the sportsmanship shown by Omega House was the real highlight.

A Note from the Sidelines
Walking through the stands, the feedback from parents was heartwarming. One mother mentioned, “I’ve never seen my son so focused—not even during his exams!” while another praised the seamless organization.
It was not just about the gold medals; it was about the collective heartbeat of a school
community coming together to celebrate health, discipline, and a bit of theatrical flair.
Until next year, keep training and stay hungry!
