On 30th July 2025, the school auditorium came alive with voices full of passion, purpose, and power, as we hosted the finale of the Interhouse Elocution Competition. It was a celebration of expression, a space where words took flight and ideas found their voice.
The journey began with a screening round, also held in the auditorium, where students from Grades 6, 7, and 8 took the mic with courage and creativity. Topics like “If I Could Invent One Thing to Help the World,” “Do Screens Connect Us or Separate Us?” and “If Honesty Had a Voice” sparked insightful perspectives. From each house, three promising speakers were selected, setting the stage for a finale to remember.
In the final round, the young speakers truly rose to the occasion. Their delivery reflected not just preparation, but personality. The use of voice modulation, well-timed pauses, and natural gestures brought out the essence of each speech. From confident openings to impactful closings, each participant demonstrated a keen awareness of how to hold an audience’s attention.
The winning speech, “If Animals Could Speak,” stood out not only for its original perspective, but for the speaker’s compelling delivery. With a balance of empathy and imagination, the speaker invited the audience into a world where animals could share their stories. His clear articulation, expressive tone, and storytelling flair created an emotional connection that lingered long after the applause.
It was a close contest between Alpha House and Omega House, but Alpha House emerged victorious with performances that touched both heart and mind.
More than just a competition, it was an inspiring reminder of how young voices when
empowered can inform, move, and inspire.
