Topics were spontaneous, and the challenge was simple: speak without hesitation, repetition, or deviation. Participants were evaluated on clarity, fluency, relevance, and their overall delivery.
What stood out was the natural ease and confidence with which many students took on this high-pressure task. Their content delivery reflected not just the presence of mind but also creativity, humour, and original thinking. Many used strong openings, thoughtful pauses, and expressive body language to connect with the audience, despite the ticking clock.
The finalists, shortlisted from the screening round, returned to the spotlight with self-chosen topics, a shift that truly allowed their personalities and perspectives to shine. From “If I Could Swap Places with Anyone” to “The World Needs More Kindness,” their speeches were engaging, authentic, and often thought-provoking.
The JAM session was more than a test of speed- it was a celebration of voice, spontaneity, and the joy of speaking with purpose. It reminded us that sometimes, all it takes is a minute to leave a lasting impact.
